    Factory Reset

WARNING! When factory resetting your phone, your personal data stored on the phone’s internal memory will be deleted, including media files, contacts, ringtones, downloads etc. Furthermore all settings will be restored to factory values but data located on the SD and SIM cards won’t be affected.

NOTE: Before you factory reset your phone, you can check this thread for instructions on backing up data, and this thread for a guide on restoring data.

    Factory Reset via Settings:

    1. Open “Settings” and access “Cloud and accounts”
    2. Tap “Backup and restore”
    3. Optionally, turn “Back up my data” and “Restore” ON or OFF
    4. Go back to “Settings” and access “General Management”
    5. Tap “Reset” > “Factory data reset”
    6. Tap “Reset” again and if your phone is lock screen-protected, enter your password/PIN
    7. Tap “Delete all”

    Factory Reset via Recovery:

NOTE: If your phone prevents you from resetting it via Settings, you can try resetting the device from Android Recovery as detailed below.

    1. Turn the phone Off if needed
    2. Press and hold “Power” “Volume Up” and the “Home”/ “Bixby” button at the same time
    3. At the Android screen, release the buttons and wait for access to Android Recovery
    4. Press “Volume down” to navigate the menu and highlight “Wipe data/factory reset”
    5. Press “Power” to select the highlight
    6. Then highlight “Yes – delete all user data” and press “Power”
    7. Finally, highlight “Reboot system now” if necessary and press “Power” to confirm

    Reset Network Settings:

NOTE: By resetting network settings, all your saved network connections will be deleted, and data restrictive settings, network selection mode, and background sync settings will be restored to factory value.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Go to “General Management” and tap “Reset”
    3. Tap “Reset network settings”
    4. If your phone is protected by a lock screen, enter your PIN/password to proceed
    5. When ready, tap “Reset settings”
