WARNING! When you factory reset the phone, all of your personal data stored on the device’s internal storage will be deleted, including contacts, media files, ringtones, downloaded content etc. Furthermore, all the settings will be restored to factory values, but data located on the SD and SIM cards won’t be affected.

NOTE: Before resetting the device, you can check this thread for a guide on how to back up data, and this thread for a guide on restoring data.

    Factory Reset via Settings:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Go to “Phone Management”
    3. Tap “Backup & Reset” then tick or clear the “Back up my data” and “Automatic Restore” tick boxes
    4. Access “Backup account”
    5. Select the desired account and tap “Factory data reset”
    6. Optionally, select whether to “Erase SD Card” as well
    7. If your phone is protected by a lock screen, enter your password/PIN and tap “Continue”
    8. Tap “Delete all” > “reset”

    Factory Reset from Android Recovery:

NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, or doesn’t allow you to reset it via Settings, you can try resetting the device from the Android Recovery menu using hardware keys.

    1. Turn the phone off
    2. Press and hold “Volume down” and “Power” at the same time
    3. Release and quickly press “Power” at the LG screen
    4. Release the buttons at the “Factory data reset” screen
    5. Once in Recovery, press “Volume down” repeatedly to navigate the menu and highlight “Yes”
    6. Press “Power” to select the highlight
    7. At the “Erase all user data and restore defaults” prompt, highlight “Yes”
    8. Press “Power” to confirm
