WARNING! When factory resetting the phone, all of your personal data stored on the phone’s internal memory will be deleted, including contacts, ringtones, media files, downloaded content etc. Furthermore, all the settings will be restored to factory values but data located on the SIM and SD cards won’t be affected.

NOTE: Before you reset the phone, you can check this thread for a guide on how to back up data and this thread on a guide for restoring data.

    Factory Reset via Settings:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Access “Phone Management”
    3. Tap “Backup & Reset”
    4. Tick or clear the “Back up my data” and “Automatic Restore” check boxes
    5. Go to “Backup account” and select the desired account
    6. Tap “Factory data reset” and optionally, select whether to “Erase SD Card” as well
    7. If your device is protected by a lock screen, enter your PIN/password and tap “Continue”
    8. Tap “Delete all” > “Reset” to confirm

    Factory Reset via Android Recovery:

NOTE: If your phone freezes, crashes, or otherwise prevents you from resetting it via Settings, you can try resetting the phone from the Android Recovery menu using hardware buttons.

    1. Turn the phone Off
    2. Press and hold “Power” and “Volume down” at the same time
    3. Release and quickly press “Power” on the LG screen
    4. Release the keys at the “Factory data reset” screen
    5. From the Recovery menu, press “Volume down” repeatedly to navigate the menu and highlight “Yes”
    6. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
    7. When prompted to “Erase all user data and restore defaults” highlight “Yes” and press “Power”
