Clear the App Cache and/or Data:

NOTE: If one of your applications causes problems or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing the issues by clearing the app cache or data. WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all of your personal data stored with the app will be deleted, including login information, settings, save files etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app cache.

    1. Swipe up on the home screen
    2. Launch “Settings”
    3. Access “Apps & Notifications”
    4. Tap “See all apps”
    5. Select the desired app and tap “Storage”
    6. Tap “Clear cache”
    7. If clearing the app cache didn’t help, you can tap “Clear data”. Check the Warning above before doing so

    Wipe the Phone’s Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, and otherwise doesn’t work as intended, you can try fixing the problems by clearing the phone’s cache partition.

    1. Turn the phone Off
    2. Press and hold “Volume Down” and “Power” at the same time
    3. Release the “Power” key at the OnePlus logo
    4. At the password screen, release the volume button as well
    5. If necessary, enter your password/PIN or pattern and tap “OK”
    6. Select the desired language
    7. Tap “Wipe data and cache” > “Wipe cache”
    8. Tap “yes”
    9. To complete the process, you will have to reboot the phone

    Remove Apps in Safe Mode:

NOTE: If a third-party app causes problems and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app while in Safe Mode. In this mode, all third-party apps are disabled by default.

    1. Press and hold “Power” on the home screen
    2. From the power management pop-up, tap and hold “Power off”
    3. Tap “OK” at the boot to Safe Mode prompt and wait for the device to reboot. Once done, you should see a “Safe Mode” watermark in the lower area of the home screen
    4. After the phone reboot, swipe up on the home screen and open “Settings”
    5. Go to “Apps & Notifications” and switch to “See all apps” if necessary
    6. Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
    7. To exit Safe Mode, reboot the phone normally by pressing and holding “Power” and selecting “Restart”
