Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: if an app causes problems or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing the problems by clearing the app cache or data. WARNING! By clearing the app’s data, all of your personal data stored within the app will be deleted, including user profiles, custom settings, login data etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear the app cache only.

1. Launch “Settings”
2. Go to “Apps & Notifications” and switch to “See all apps”
3. Select the desired app and tap “Storage”
4. Tap “Clear cache”
5. If clearing the cache didn’t fix the issues tap “Clear data” (Check the Warning above)

Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset the Phone:

NOTE: Make sure you’ve backed up all of your data before factory resetting the phone.

1. Launch “Settings”
2. Go to “System” > “Reset options”
3. To reset network settings, access “Reset Wi-Fi Mobile & Bluetooth”
4. Tap “Reset” two times to confirm
5. To reset app settings, access “Reset app preferences” and tap “Reset apps”
6. To factory reset the device, tap “Erase all data (factory reset)” > “Reset phone” > “Erase Everything”

Reboot to Safe Mode and Uninstall Apps:

NOTE: If a third-party app causes problems and prevents you from uninstalling it, you should be able to remove an app while in Safe Mode. In this mode, all third-party apps are disabled by default.

1. Press and hold “Power” while on the home screen
2. From the power management pop-up, tap and hold “Power off”
3. Wait for the phone to finish rebooting. Once done, you should see a “Safe Mode” watermark in the lower area of the home screen
4. Open “Settings” and go to “Apps & Notifications”
5. Switch to “See all apps” and select the desired app
6. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
7. Once done, you can exit Safe Mode by rebooting the phone as you would normally do
