    Back Up App Data:

    1. Launch “Settings
    2. Scroll to and tap “Cloud and accounts
    3. Tap “Backup & restore
    4. Enable “Back up my data” to back up settings, Wi-Fi passwords, and account data with your Google account
    5. Enable “Automatic restore” to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be automatically restored when reinstalling apps or signing in with the backup account

    Back Up Contacts:

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Tap “Cloud and accounts” > “Accounts
    3. Select the account you want to use for contact syncing
    4. Make sure “Contacts” is checked then tap “Menu” > “Sync Now

    Back Up Contacts to SD Storage:

    1. Launch “Contacts
    2. Tap “Menu” > “Settings
    3. If necessary, tap “Contacts to display” and select “All contacts
    4. Tap “Import/Export contacts” > “Export to SD card
    5. Tap “OK” to confirm

    Back Up Media Files on the Phone Storage:

    1. Launch “My Files
    2. Tap “Internal storage” > “Menu
    3. Tap “Share” and select the media files you want to back up
    4. Tap “Share” again and select the desired backup location

    Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

    1. Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
    2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the Notification area
    3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
    4. Locate the desired media files on the phone
    5. Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the PC
    6. Once done, safely disconnect the device from the USB port

    Back Up Media Files to a Mac:

    NOTE: Skip the first 3 steps in case Samsung Kies is already installed on your Mac.

    1. Open the Internet browser on the Mac
    2. Visit https://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/app/kies
    3. Click “Download for Mac” and install the app on the computer
    4. Establish a USB connection between the Android device and Mac
    5. On the phone, enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the Notification area
    6. Launch Kies on the Mac and access “Back up / restore
    7. Access the “Backup” tab
    8. Tick the check boxes associated with “Music”, “Photos” and other media file types you want to back up
    9. Click “Backup” to begin the process
    10. Once done, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it over the “trash can
    11. You can now safely disconnect the device from the USB port
