    • Tracing a number without consent is illegal in many places and an invasion of privacy.
    • There are legitimate paid services that law enforcement can use with a subpoena or court order.
    • Trying to "hack" or deduce a number's location on your own would be unethical.
    • You should only trace numbers linked to criminal investigations, with approval.
    • Make sure you have the number owner's permission first before attempting to trace their location.
    • If you feel unsafe due to messages or calls from an unknown number, alert the proper authorities.
    • If this is a personal issue, like a spouse or family member, consider consulting professionals or authorities.

Tracing a cell phone number isn't easier but after reading your post, I get some ideas that how to do it. I think you have to professional number which look 0333 business code and you can get it from cNumber service by browsing this http://cnumber.co.uk/numbers/type-companies-organisations-use-0333-numbers/ site. Thanks!

if it's a regular landline or business phone number then usually you can just Google the number and dig around for owner info yourself.

if you got a cell phone number or unlisted number, then you most likely HAVE to pay. Are you willing to pay $14.95? That's the cheapest I've found yet:

I have never seen anything free that offered that service either. I wish I could recommend a paid one but I have never used the service so I have none to recommend.

As far as I know there are absolutely no FREE cellphone reverse lookup directories. However you MAY be able to get some information provided the cellphone number in question has been mentioned in some publicly listed profile. In such a case you could simply google the cellphone number and you MAY get some information regarding the number. However if you still don't get anything worthwhile heres an excellent paid site to help you out:
    Cell Phone Reverse Lookup
This site even has a 56 day moneyback scheme.

    Yeah...
Service for $5.95 and $14.95 give you info that's 2 years old. The cell company will not give you any info without a subpoena. The police won't help you either because, all they will do is call the person and ask them to stop, and that's if you file multiple complaints which will be on the record.

Here's the site I use most times - it's free to search for the number and only costs $14.95 to deliver the info you need, ie., name, current address, age, roommates (if any), etc.

They're very thorough and if they can't come up with the cell phone number, there's no charge whatsoever for the service! Sweet!

    Hope this helps.

Watch out for fraudulent sites in your search. He's an article about just such a thing:

If the text messages were of a threatening nature and you had any concern as to their validity, your local Police Department should have been the first avenue of assistance.

Just a guess...one of the things you found appealing about this older fellow was that he didn't behave like a juvenile? LOL.
I wonder if your cell ph. company would have provided assistance in that you say the texts were threatening in nature.
Wishes for the best, however it all works out for you.
