I cannot express any doubts or consent, just because I am not an expert. And I just don't know. But this solar power theme interested me, so I did my own research and found solarsystems.reviews where you can find literally everything about solar panels, power etc. Including, but not limited to review of providers.

This information looks like some hoax story, sorry. How are you going to charge this screen that looks more like a plastic milk packet? How will it charge the phone?

Great idea, another step forward for renewable energy. But to be honest I think the screen surface will not be enough to charge the battery.
I recommend charging a battery via solar power bank during the day and then charge your smartphone. You can find more info about solar panels here.

Can't wait to see this on the shelves!

Not fun when you're in the middle of something, or on a phone call and your phone just dies on you without warning.

I have read the same article on timtechs last week I think. I think it's cool and it's a great solution for most people since Smartphones easily run out of battery and this concepts conveniently recharges your phone when there's light.

Great concept, I think the battery has to be address if smartphones are to remain thin/compact. The battery is the heart of the smartphone, if they can't make a better battery then they need to find a way to keep the standard battery charged.

With high speed service, cameras, and video calls, the phone needs power, because these features.. and future features will drain a battery.

Wysips is a French company that has this great idea of shrinking a solar panel into nothing more than a thin transparent fil that fits on the screen of your phone. The purpose of this thin transparent film is to grab energy from the sun or light and covert it into power.

Although the purpose is to charge your cell phone, you would still need a battery as the film would not be able to power the phone completely and give you the full functionablity of your cellular device.

This solar film is less than 100 microns and is very flexible and will still allow you to fully use your touchscreen without any effect. It is Wysips hope that carriers and mobile companies will integrate this technology. Wysips plans on having this not only available for phones but for tablets within the next 12 months.

The big advantage of this new concept, if it is accepted and goes forth, is that it will make devices thinner and will decrease the cost of manufacturing where battery is concerned as the battery will be a little thinner, which in turn, could cut the cost of the products themselves.
