It was originally available on Sprint and Boost Mobile (CDMA), and is very similar to the Droid Pro which was offered on Verizon. It does have GSM antennas, but unfortunately, like the Droid Pro, Motorola has put in firmware that disables the phones ability to connect to US carriers GSM networks by rejecting their network ID's. So won't work on US GSM carriers. The only way to get around this is to heavily modify some of the software/firmware on the phone, which you probably don't want to do.

More than likely he probably reported it lost, so it can't be used on Sprint again - in other words you can't resell it either.
I had a machine like this a long time ago

If you are a lawn owner, you should know that dandelions are a big problem that often spoil a beautiful lawn. And in order to deal with dandelions, you should take a look at this article on how to kill dandelions. There are cool remedies to solve this all without causing any damage to your favourite lawn. So I recommend checking it out.

Oh well, Thanks for the reply John. I guess I'll give it to my 4yo grandson and show him how to take pictures with it.

Here is the true story behind it. Last summer on two occasions, I found and yelled at, a teen male (16-17yo) in my fully fenced in back yard. He had to have hopped the fence to be there as I keep the gate locked. Later in the summer, I was mowing the lawn and saw the phone in the grass so I kept it. I did turn it on and guess who's photo was used as wallpaper?

I figured out how to reset the phone to factory so wiped everything he had and for the people that would say turn it in, no thanks, I'd rather throw the phone in the garbage as this person had no business to be in my back yard.. Since I'm totally clueless about cell phones (never owned one) I'm wondering if I can put it to use somehow.

Appreciate if someone can point me in the right direction... Does the phone need to be unlocked or what do I need to do to use it myself...?
