    Back Up Application Data:

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Open “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset”
    4. Turn “Back up my data” to back up Wi-Fi passwords, settings, and account data to your Google account
    5. Enable “Automatic restore” to allow app data to be restored automatically the next time you sign in with your backup account

    Back Up Contacts to Storage:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Applications”
    4. Tap “Contacts” > “Import / Export contacts”
    5. Tap “Export” and choose to export contacts on “SD card” or “Storage”
    6. Tap “OK” to confirm

    Back Up Contacts on a Google Account:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “Accounts” > “Google”
    3. Select the desired account
    4. Make sure “Contacts” is checked
    5. Tap “More” > “Sync Now”

    Back Up Media Files on the SD Card:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “My Files”
    3. Scroll to “Local storage” and tap “Device storage”
    4. Tap “More” > “Edit”
    5. Locate and select the desired media files
    6. Tap “More” > “Copy”
    7. Select “SD Card” > “Create folder”
    8. Navigate to and select the desired destination folder
    9. Tap “Paste here”

    Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

    1. Connect the Samsung phone to your computer via USB
    2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
    3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
    4. Locate and coy the media files on the phone
    5. Paste the files in the desired backup location on the PC
    6. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

    Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:

    NOTE: You can skip the first 3 steps below if Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac computer.

    1. Open the Internet browser on the Mac
    2. Visit Kies Support
    3. Click “Kies 3 for Mac” to download and install Kies on the computer
    4. Connect the Samsung device to your Mac via USB
    5. On the smartphone, enable “Media device” / “File transfer” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
    6. Open Kies on the Mac
    7. Go to “Back up / Restore” and access the “Backup” tab
    8. Tick the boxes linked with “Music”, “Photos” or other media file types you want to back up
    9. Click “Backup” to confirm
    10. Once the backup file is done, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and drop it into the “Trash can” to eject it
    11. You can now disconnect the phone from the USB cord
