It's a good point, but I don't think it applies to all approaches to photography. For example, I like to edit photos that are taken with a high-quality camera, or at least with a phone. But I bought a polaroid just to get atmospheric photos without editing! I like this aesthetic of photos stylized as an old shoot, which can then be printed and placed in beautiful wooden frames. I would never edit a Polaroid photo. But as for professional shooting, you really can't do without basic editing. No camera in the world will give you the effect you imagine.
