    You can't. MIDI content is forward-locked due the copyright issues.

    base64 means that each "chunk" of information is stored using 64 bits.

    An SMS stores each "chunk" of information using a different amount of bits and the software on the phone hasn't been designed so you can just send anything from your phone.

    I'm guessing you can't just send midi files around so that the networks can make money off people buying these funky ringtones.

    May be becaute at a rate of 140bytes per SMS, sending some kilobytes will cost you a little amount of money

    You cann't send midi files attached; Midi files are base64 encoded into MMS.

    how come when i send midi from my laptop to my phone through infra-red it works, but when i can't send the midi from my phone to my friend's phone? The weird thing is that i can send wav files but not midi

    wtf? i thought in MMS you could send an email to your phone with a attached MIDI and itd notice it as a ringtone.... maybe im wrong.. try it tho
