Yah, go to sony ericsson service centre to get the software updated and it'll solve the problem.

I was telling a buddy of mine about the ring tone fading in and he offered a reason why. He said "ya know when you're on the phone and you drop a call and you are standing there saying: hello, hello..." Well when people are quick to call you back you'd be caught with the phone up to your ear.

Yeah...and I still can't understand, why there is this feature. I mean, if you have the phone up to your ear, you are phoning, right? So there should be no ringtone at all... whatever.

I understand that being a safety issue, but I would like to option to damage my hearing. It's quite irratating that the ringer gets loud enough to wake me up right as the person is hanging up.

Nope. You can't stop the tone before the ring, and you can't stop the fading in. There is an option for the fading, but it only decreases the amount of the fade - it doesn't eliminate it.

There is a quick fade-in the first couple seconds. It's a safety feature - if you have the phone up to your ear and you have a loud poly tone... goodbye hearing. They should've left that optional, but they didn't.
