You guys are nuts. I wish I knew what I was doing enough to manipulate my own ringtones. Im not really an electronics person. More of an automotive person. Anyway. Anybody wanna hook me up with a decent ringtone. I just got this new samsung phone that is supposed to play supertones(pretty much the reason I bought it) but all the ones I have seen to download are busted.

The supertones combine WAV and MIDI are in MMF. dont ask me how but i just know it does and were still waiting on a how-to to create it.

    my bad... .mmf = SMAF

Wav can be converted to midi, and any wav or midi can be converted to mmf. www.smaf-yamaha.com has a few midi to mmf converters.

wav can be converted using MS sound recorder, formatting the sound to 8 bit... then using the smaf converter to convert the wav to mmf 4 bit.

the E105 i have came with some voice alerts, and blended voice ringtones.

only the E715 is able to accept midi files directly and convert them to mmf for use on the fly. all other samsung phones up to this point can only use files already formatted in mmf.

yes i do create my own ringtones, i actually prefer them, but you see theres a new variation of a certain type of ringtone called a "supertone" which combines a WAV & MIDI file together. sorry i just HAD to buy that john mayer ringtone for whenever that special lady calls, hehe. but it nees some editing, better LED, and and a VIB feature, thats why i wanna export it. but yeah you should listen to the supertones at www.cingularextras.com they have sample of music supertones. btw if anyone figures out how to creeate supertones, plz let us know! thanks

why buy ringtones when u can wap or datalink for free? there's billions of midi files ready to convert for samsung fones, some much better than what's available on Megatones.

you can also get free ringtones from samsung at www.samsungmobile.com

Good question. I too have that same question...I have bought songs from T-Mobile on my cell phone and now have the Data link cable with the EASY GPRS Program. Is there any way to get those songs from my phone like onto my computer? and if so, could somebody please explain how? Thnx!

if you can access you files directory using the data cable and sync software, then you import and export anything from and to your phone.
