I feel MoboManager is the best for Nokia, not sure if it works with other phones.

But with datacables, sometime, boot computer with it plugged in, if that doesn't help, try booting up with it plugged into your phone while turned off... and still no luck, try it with the phone turned on.

If its a USB cable try the same thing, however, I don't use USB cables at all
