the problem ain't length, size or how many instruments it contains. I have had many mids that are bigger than 30kb and longer than 3 minutes... and I've also had many mids that contains ten channels (one of them is vibration channel), some of them are ordered.... all have worked just fine.... But I also came up with 2 mids that hadn't worked even if I shortened them, dropped some channels etc. Does anyone know what's the problem?

the problem is not with the size or length... most nokias can only play 4 instruments at the same time.... so if it is more than that the phone will:
    either-
    not open it.
    or-
open it but miss out some notes..

u can fix this using a program called Anvil Studio by changing the volume of the instruments, deleting the ones u dont need and try to play only 4 instruments at once by muting all the extra notes...
i edited a lot of tones to use on my site (-Bullet Nokia- if anyone knows about it) and that was how i did them...

some tones will never work on the phone - i had 2 tones like that..

i know this is a nokia thread but i jus gotta say that a t610 (sonyericsson) has amazin sound output. it can play upto 22 simultaneous notes from my experience-it could be more but i haven tried. its capable o opening an audio file as large as 150kb or even more. i'm sayin all this coz i have a 6610 and a t610

most nokias support only bout 4 channels to play simultaneously. anyway as one o the guys said above , the problems with the size of the file not even the length. a nokia cant usually play or open a sound file larger than 15-20kb.

It cant play more than 6 simoltaneous notes at a time...i think thats the problem...so if u go in and edit the midi you should be fine, i've gotten all mine to work.

I dont think its the length that is the problem because i have played around with it today and it seems that the mobile cant handle more than 8 channels!

When I had my 7210 I used to get that problem... I think the reason was because the midi file was too long... making it too big to open...

I'm saying this... because if i had a file that wouldn't open... I'd take it into cubase and chop it down to about a minute rather than 3... and it'd work fine and dandy...

Don't know if this helps you or not... but i thought i'd throw my 2 cents in...

    Hello all!

I have some success with the sound converter but more failure than success

Almost all midi files i convert can be played in the sound converter but when i download them to my Nokia 6100 and tries to play them, it says "File cannot be opened" on the mobile...

I cant figure out what causes this problem as it does not seem to be a problem with channels or max nodes

    Hope someone can help me
