a great phone for the beginners and those who don't want a lot of functions but just a basic phone.

    Same here,

I use the cable so much to work the phone I accually got the new desktop charger that allows for the data cable or head set to plug into it. Sync botton on the phone works only with Outlook though ;-(

Ack I'm sorry ski ur right about the modem. I was thinking of the downloading feature of the phone. I'm betting your thinking of the connectivity to a PC in use with the GPRS. Was playing around with my 6800 today and was hooking it up for a customer to his laptop and the light in my head went on.

talk about update. I believe I did say don't quote me because I wasn't sure. And I'll send you the tech document for 3100 if you need to see the GPRS modem feature. Infact it allows for two GPRS streams that allow for two data streams.

The Nokia 3100 does not have GPRS modem feature, and hey, celldealer, i guess you'll need to upgrade your knowledge, as all nokia phones(except 3660, 6600, 6230, 7700) can show only 4096 colours.

Not at all. This phone kicks ass. I feel that Nokia created this phone to pair it with the Nokia Fun Cam http://nds1.nokia.com/nokia/0,4879,33293,00.html

This phone does have a GPRS modem but not (E)GPRS as the 3200 does.

I see this phone for the club type personality with its flashing lights and eXpress on covers that enhance the lights. It offers color animations via gifs (which the 3200 doesn't) and I believe (don't quote me) a better color depth then the 3200.

Some people have complained about its small memory but thats mostly due to Nokia loading so much crap on it for the get go. After removing all the default apps, games, tones I get over a MB of space to load up with what ever I want.

It is a good phone but don't you feel the deficiency of the Infrared and GPRS modem in the 3100?

What do everyone here think about the Nokia 3100? Is it good. I got this phone and love it, but I'd like to know what you'd think is a better phone for the price (if there is better)..

    Thanks
