    i would but he is not the first person i have heard saying that it could be done without changing the firmware. apparently there is a guy who is doing this for a small cost. i woul look into this n find out how true it is.

    I don't think it is possible, tell him to show proof by showing u the 5100 in which he has done this.

    Did he do it himself? He might just be trying to fool people. Don't Believe Him. It is not possible.
    It is absolutely necessary to load a third party tool, but Java can't operate outside its environment, so that leaves only oftware from nokia which is non-java. Which would be akin to flashing, but only you'll be adding a new module or something.

    Is that possible?!? It's understandle that it can't change the wallpaper with the default software unless u were to flash it with 3100's software or something but u wouldn't be able to use the radio and infrared etc.

    my friend said that it is possible to get screen savers to work on the nokia 5100 without change the firm ware. he works at a cell phone store n did not explaing how. can any one give me an idea as to how this would be possible?
