t-mobile is hands down the best carrier, best rate plans, #1 customer service for 3 years by jd power n assoc, and their data plans and messaging plans are the best. I sell att and tmobile, and T-Mobile is definitely better then the rest

They blocked getting pics from my phone through easygprs and a cable . . . i had to pay them to e-mail them to myself. They dont make games for my phone and barely have any ringtones. Connections are bad a lot and #MIN# is usually a day behind my minutes usage . . . Catherine is hot

Hmm... I have T-Mobile service for my personal cell-phones and Nextel for my work-phone. Not a single day goes by without a dropped call on Nextel (usually "Try Again 26" or some other cryptic message). This happens on Nextel -> Nextel calls with full signal on both ends, while both phones are stationary.

I've had T-Mo service since 12/2002, and have never experienced a dropped call while stationary. Sure, when driving you may hit a weak spot and lose a call, but that's the same everywhere.

The Sidekick is known to be a problematic phone and shouldn't be indicative of T-Mo's service in general.

While a lot of the time I forget too that Sprint phones work just about everywhere while my T-Mobile phone has trouble finding a signal, I have to realize that at this point, T-Mobile is structured for general purpose. T-Mobile phones work where most people need them. What more do you need? Lower prices? Well they have the best, especially with their unlimited Internet plans. They have one of, if not the best price for Unlimited Internet!

    T-Mobile is the best...

I've had a number of different cellular providers over the past 8 years, and so far, T-Mo takes the cake for customer service. Hold-times are low, and while they may not always be able to help you, they sure try hard and throw credits at you when things don't go quite as hoped.

Example: T-Zones (internet) service didn't work one night. I call them, they say they're working on it and offer a $5 credit, which I gladly accept.

On the other hand, when Nextel started charging a deliberate $1.25/month "additional fee" some two years ago, they wouldn't budge on it. I saw it as a change in terms, they didn't. Needless to say, I didn't renew my contract.

I cant say T-mobile's Customer Service is the best, as I have had some big issues with them in the past. However, I can say that on the average, they do have some good reps, that tend to make up for the lack of some of the other idiots they have.

In the UK, reception is very rarely a problem, with any network. We're such a small country in comparison the the US that everywhere has pretty much equal coverage.

T-Mobile has also been around the US quite a while, initially called "VoiceStream". They went around a bought a number of smaller outfits (OmniPoint, Powertel, etc), then integrated them and called them VoiceStream. Eventually they realized that global branding would be an advantage and changed their name to T-Mobile in the US.

Customer service is THE BEST BAR NONE in the industry. I had a number of providers over the years (PrimeCo, GTE, CellularOne, Sprint, AT&T, Nextel, etc) and I have never had a better CS experience.

As for reception, your mileage may vary. In Chicago and the suburbs, I usually have good coverage, including 3-4 bars in my basement. In-building coverage is generally weaker for higher frequencies, so T-Mo's 1900 band is at a disadvantage compared with 800 AMPS and 850 GSM, even 1800 GSM and IDEN bands. That said, I have never not had service when I needed it, except maybe when following the wife around the mall shopping for baby clothes

T-Mobile has been around for quite a number of years in the UK, but at first it was called "One2One". When they changed to "T-Mobile" they went international.

They've always been my provider, and I've never had any problems with them. As Kalico said, they're still finding their feet in the international market. Things should start to get better soon
