Ok, heres a suggestion, if you can dload the midi to your PC, with a data cable, then try see if it works on winamp or any other sort of midi player, if it works then,

Use Coding Workshop which can be obtained here
    Coding Workshop

Once you download i suggest a wee crack for i, cause its not worth the money to pay for it

then once you have that installed and cracked....then start it up import the file, edit the midi if you want to, then click next, sellect the phone type "Nokia (Standard)" i think is the one you want to click, select 4 channel/path save file as, then upload it to the phone.... bobs your uncle fanny's you auntie and roberts your mothers brother

most laptops have an IR port, which you can use with your 3200 - if you have access to one you can upload it that way

    Thanks for the info.
Right now I don't have data-cable so I can't upload anything to my PC. I'll send the file to you as soon as I buy the cable.

You can find info on sp-midi at my website:

    http://www.geocities.com/alternatones/

You can also email me the mid file to have a look at and convert if you want... details are on the site

    Useless
I have to agree, your problem most likely is that the ericcson midi has too many channels for the 3200. Could try using the PC Suite to modify and cut out some channels if you really like it that much.

i am not sure.. but i think SE T610 plays 32 channels.. so i think this is y the tone is not playing in ur 3200

Are there different types in MIDI files?
    what is SP-MIDI?
As far as I know 3200 can play 16 channel Polyphonic MIDI, not 4.

Sounds like there is an error with the midi file. If it is not right for your phone it won't work.

With most nokia's you have to have a 4-channel sp-midi for it to work.

The problem is not of file length or file transfer. Everything is done perfectly. The only thing is that phone doesn't want to play it and I am trying to figure out why?

i donno about mob to mob but well if u have an IR port that is connected to the comp. then u can put mid and midi files in your mobile ( provided it's length shouldn't be so big)

    Hi,
I downloaded one MIDI file in my Nokia 3200 from my friend's Sony Ericsson handset through IR port. I saved it to "Tones" folder. When I try to open this file, I get an message "Could not open file".

Can't 3200 open ".MID" file? Then whats the meaning of Polyphonic MIDI? Is it different than this MIDI?
