Get a Zune, it's what I'm sporting at the moment. It's much better, and almost impossible to scratch the body of it

i hate ipods.. just go to newegg.com and look up some prices of the ipods vs the other mp3 players... see it for yourself how much money you waste, and how much less you will get if you get an ipod....

I've been using a 4GB Ipod mini for the last few years and my only gripe is that the battery life could be longer. I'm planning to get a new 8GB nano in the next few weeks. Hopefully the batter will last longer with it.

I have a 30gb ipod video, not bad, wish it was easier to add movies though. They have to be a certain format

I own a lack ipod nano (1gb). It plays music great and I like the small form factor. I do have issues with it scratching so easily though.

I've always been buying the smallest iPod up until the Video was released (I prefer quality over quantity and thus my library is smallish, ~3 gigs), but I have loads of video i'd like to watch at a moment's notice... so I sprung for the 60 gig ipod video!

I have an Ipod Nano. They scratch real easy but just get a case. They also have TONS of accessories for them.

You can buy a refurbished 30G iPod from Apple for $199.

I have been using a cheap little 256Mb player for the last year. Just got a phone with a player built in and it suits my needs just fine.

The iPods look cool, but the thought of being stuck with nothing but iTunes bugs me. I have been looking at the Sansa models by SanDisk, they are coming down in price (2Gig model is $100) and they will play WMA formatted music, which means more options for buying music.

Then of course you have the Zune coming out in November.

If I find that I need something other than the player on my phone I will probably go with something non-apple.
