    no the will not have to lonk computers just any number will be able to go onto any system and i don't think they are going to charge for it

    how will that work? it will definitely save on the numbers needed, but won't all the companies have to have linked comps now?

    the only other company i have heard to be working on the system is verzion and we will have the 2 way shop in my shop by the end of this year

    it will be mandated by the fcc in november 2003 most carriers already support it but don't practice it as of yet

    WELL JUST TO LET YOU KNOW WE BEEN HAD GSM FOR THE PAST 5 YEAR IT START WITH PACIFIC BELL NOW ALL THE COMPANIES OVER HERE HAVE IT EXCEPT SPRINT

    ...but if you were in the UK you wouldn't have this problem anyway as we've had the right to take our numbers to any network we want for quite some time. Oh, and we've got GSM too which is better. Just thought I'd mention it. Gotta get one over on you guys sometimes!

    yes cause that stop a lot of customer from moving to other carriers because they didn't want to lose there number that they had for about 2 years and longer.....but it finally happens

    all companies will be able to do this, its mandated by the FCC.

    they just past the law so that if you whant to change for ex: at&t to nextel you will be able to keep you same number no matter what carrier you go to!!!! i think it will start towards the end of his year thought.
