That may sound strange to ssome people but I have always found Nokias reliable and tough. The 6230 does everything the Motorola did but better and is easier to use. Plus, is this is just my opinion, I think it looks better.

I ended up swapping it for the Nokia 6230 and am so much happier.

I agree, it sounds like a faulty handset, I have found no problems wiht the sound quality of phone calls. The video playback however is a different matter!

Sounds like your first instinct to get a replacement is a good one. If that one's still bad, perhaps the store has a bad batch...

I just got someone to call me and tried what you suggested. I thought for a minute that you may be right as ther person sounded clearer but it got muffled again. I don't know if it is me or the phone. :-( Surely it can't be this hard to get a clear phone call?

This may just be me, but I found the same when I first got the phone. Then, I realized I has holding it too high. The speaker was at the top of my ear and I was listening to the color screen! When I conciously hold it lower, it's just fine.

I think this is because I had never used a clamshell phone before, only the candy-bar style.

Hi, It might just be my individual phone but the sound quality (eg using the phone normally to talk to someone) is poor. It is muffled and I have found myself saying 'What did you say?' a lot since I got it.

I am planning to return it to O2 and either geta replacement or a new model?

    What to do?
