If you didnt set a default password you can try 1234, 0000, and 9999 - those are the other defaults other than the last 4 digits of your phone.
If you can access the filesystem with BitPim you can either do a Hex Dump of.. or simply save and open nvm_0002 - you'll see the 4 digit code there.
nvm_0000 gives you your 6 digit SPC lock code

The default password set on my phone was the last 4 digits of my phone number. This is actually specified in the users manual for the phone.

Since I did not set one as well, i was wondering why it was asking for it.

I have an AudioVox 8900, and PC Sync only lets me work with Contacts, no images or ringtones transfer.

BitPim lets me see the entire tree, but it will not do the automatic transfer of data (see above posts, same problem).

I guess you can work with the tree, although it would be nice to have a GUI wrapped around your images/etc.

The password is the same password that you have set on your phone.

My problem is that every time that i try to upload a tone it tells me that it can not retrieve the current tones or something to that affect. What can I do about that?

Is an 8910 and an 8900 basically the same phones?

I have an 8910 and neither bitpim or Brewsky will work. The curitel drivers seem to install fine but no connection with the phone can be established. In Brewsky it says port open.....even if i force it to the write com port.
In bitpim it just locks the program and nothing happens....

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the usb drivers many times and tried many different sequences of pluging things in and turning the phone on... Nothing works..

My carrier is Aliant. Maybe that is my problem.

Not sure what else to try.

Do you have BREW on your phone? Call your provider and have them add that feature to your phone. I have like 60 minutes of searching and downloading for like $1.99. You have to pay for each thing that you buy, but it's worth it for me cuz I can't find any online. You can get wallpaper, ringtones and games on BREW.

Sounds like you've got the right cable. Could you see the filesystem in BitPim. or would not recognize the phone?
