C'est La Vie - maybe it is trangressatory hatred, but one of my former employers forced me to use a Nokia that was a P.O.S.!!! So, I have hated them ever since.

Also, I don't like Nokia phones (or any other phones including Moto) that are "Open Faced" - The keys get damaged, you accidentally call out when you don't even realize it - the clear plastic lCD cover gets scratched up and looks like sh**T!

Oh! And for you dumb a**s out there that will write back about using the "Key Lock" feature..... Shut up! You know we as feeble humans only remember 25% of the time to set that "key lock" feature --- unless we are "perfect" like your sorry little ass - clam shell design is simple, you just flip it shut when you hang-up!

So, I welcome clamshell designs - especially from Moto.

    C'ya...

There was also a fight (connected to the same lawsuit) over NEXTEL beating Verizon to the punch with Nationwide Direct Connect whereby Verizon alleged that NEXTEL used unfair trade tactics in stealing the ideas for NDC from Verizon via NEXTEL's dealings with Motorola who developed the technology. This also drug the 2 companies into a fight over the spectrum in 1.9GHz and/or 2.1GHz NEXTEL was going to move to for eliminating interference with public safety radios in the 800MHz spectrum that NEXTEL shares.
    Great Info!!!

Do you know anything about the i890 or the i930???

    Hi -

I haven't heard about that one... But, Nextel has had the 2-way technology for a really long time, but now since they are merging it doesn't really matter..... does it?

By-the-way I did a search for the i930 on Nextel's website - it does have some .pdf training materials for the sales reps that contains info on the i930 (although not very interesting for you and me) - but, the training manual also listed a i890.... Too bad, it would really seem that we will have to wait several months or more since logic would indicate that they would release the i890 before the i930. Such a shame.

Moto is the best and I'm glad to hear they are sticking with them.

My wife has an AT&T phone made by Panasonic, which makes a pretty cool phone with an awesome battery life!

But, as to the Sanyo, Nokia and others - they are over-rated crap!

I second that, I think even if not exclusively, motorola will always make phones for nextel and I will always buy them over any other brand.

this is true it is not like any of us can do anything about it, we will just wait and see if this works out in the end. I think that in the end after all of the bull**** it will be a good thing.

I can't believe those dumb ass newspapers either...

Here is what is printed on the NEXTEL Website regarding the merger:

"Sprint and Nextel currently have a combined total equity value of approximately $70 billion and serve more than 35 million wireless subscribers on their networks and 5 million additional subscribers through affiliates and partners. The two companies, along with their affiliates and partners, operate networks that directly cover nearly 262 million people, more of the U.S. population than any other carrier."
(((Link for info is: http://sprintnextel.mergerannouncement.com/ )))

So, as you can see their website on the merger makes the claim to be the largest carrier!

    Happy Holidays,

    Eric
