I have had a 7230 with T-Mobile for a year and decided to upgrade to the 7520...I have had it for 2 weeks and am thinking about sending it back...I can not view https//: (secure pages) and have no idea how I can get excel to work with my computer...I have read all the manuals and still can not open excel/attachments,pics ect..
Also Nextel does not support GPS on this phone...so why do they even carry it?
I have downloaded tons of certificates for secure web viewing with no luck...I have paid for full web viewing...
Can anybody help me before I throw this phone out the window into the sea?
I also am disapointed in it's size...much larger than my 7230...but If I can view https//: pages, I will deal with it...(this is not a phone you can put in your pocket or purse)
    Thanks for anyone who replys...

I just received a 7520. I can not open images attached in e-mails. Do I have to purchase a program that allows me to open these pics, or am I doing something wrong? I called Nextel after trying for awhile, and they suggested a webviewer program from regwireless. I downloaded the trial version and it does allow me to view images on the web, but does not help open the pics. in e-mails. ANy help is much appreciated.

from what i understand, the blackberry only accepts midi ringers and you have to email them to yourself as an attachement. same with wallpaper

happy to see so many of you giving the 7520 a try. There are a lot of benefits with the 7520 but like any thing else there are also some disadvantages.

You can not get the blackberry with out a data service active on it. This means if you want it to be your phone you would also need the data service as well. You can get the blackberry with only data and not use it for voice which a ton of people do.

There are ways to get Mp3 and Wav files loaded onto the 7520 and you can also download gif and jpeg images, just not wirelessly.

I got one last week. I have a 7510. I wanted the gps chip so I ordered 7520. I sent it back. Yes it is an upgrade but not enough for me. I sent it back here is my review.

    Pro:
Mp3 files and file attachments work. Reads word, excel and power point files.

    Cons:
GPS chip not supported yet. Telenave said maybe in a month. Ringtones must be midi file. No link from pictures to contacts. No external memory card.

    Overall:
Its a good phone but I switch to a I860 which does more and cost about the same. It requires a little more buttons work. The Blackberry web client service is $44/month while I860 even with extra gps service $22.00 a month. Plus camera. Average person should get i860, but Blackberry is more impressive looking to people. Another note I had a sprint smartphone which was better than Blackberry but my company switch to Nextel

from what I hear you can only use midi and you have to email them to yourself and then same them from there, it works the same with wallpapers.

do you have the full blackberry package with it. I was hoping to get one without the blackberry package but the nextel representative i spoke with said that you cannot do that.

I got one tonight, so far I'm impressed

wondering about ringtones though, the ones on the phone suck...want to upload my own music to the phone, it's a PDA so it shouldn't be that difficult...looking but not finding anything
