Kyocera had a battery recall on the phantom and the slider if you contact me with your battery number I would be glad to tell you if it matches a battery number that was recalled. The batteries that were recalled won't charge or they won't keep a charge or they get very warm. Any way anyone with this problem feel free to email with your info and I will let you know.

You need a 110V AC to 12V DC converter. They have one on the radioshack site for $24.99. (cat#22-505) Thats the catalog number. http://www.radioshack.com/category.a...5%5F000&Page=1 try the link. If that doesn't work try doing a search for "AC-to-DC Portable Power Supply" thats what radioshack calls it. I have seen them for cheaper at other stores.
They also have some more expensive ones, but you don't really need those unless you do alot with 12V electronics.

I hope that helps, and keep posting on wether or not that resolves your problem.

The adapter I reffered to is so you can plug any car adapter in at home. It makes your 110V AC house current into 12V DC like a car. They are made to work with all adapters that plug into cigarret lighters. So if you bought the adapter, anything you plug into your car you can plug in at home. For example; I have a friend that uses an AC to 12V DC converter to power his portable CD player when he is not in his car.

From my service provider (USCellular) it is $3.00 dollars per month for insurance. That covers theft, loss and accidental. I think there is a $20-$30 deductable, but that is less than a new one at retail.
Every service provider is different and you will have to check with yours. But in most cases it is less than $5 per month and covers all the above. If I was in your situation I would say it got stolen, becouse if you claim the accidental breakage than you have to turn the phone in for repairs and they will see the void sticker is gone from one of the holes to a case skrew. If you claim it stolen, than you don't have to turn in your phone. And when you get your new phone if you want to change the case again. Ther is a way to get the sticker off and reaply without voiding the warrenty.

Last night I was in FredMeyer (a store similar to wal-mart) looking for component video cables, and I saw an 110AC to 12V DC converter for $14.99 US. That would solve your problem and let you plug in your car charger at home. That is also alot cheaper than a new phone. Plus it will work with all devices that have a 12V car adapter; like a scanner or those car DVD player kits that everyone should'nt watch while driving. Radioshack has them for cheap too.

well thanx for your help but yeah i gess i'm screwed... but a question about those car charger adapters you speak of... are they like universal or is there a certian kind you have to get for your phone? oh and also... what IS the point of selling those adapters? (other than for clumsy people who drop their phones...)
well thanx again... and BTW (sorry for all the ??s) but apx. how much IS insurence for your phone and how do you get it? ok thats all.

That seems strange that it won't cahrge at home. The only suggestion I can think of is to use a 12volt adapter that you can plug into the wall and then plug your car charger into the adapter. Basically allowing you to run your car charger off of house current. They sell for reasonably cheap at Radioshack. It will be cheaper than buying a new phone, thats for sure.

Or, you can apply theft/loss insurance to your phone, use tha 12v converter for a while, then tell them your phone got stolen or lost. If theft/loss is covered you should have no problams getting a new phone for the price of the deductable. But usually its free if you have the theft insurance. But a guilty conscience will rid you for the rest of the life of your phone.

Either way you will probably have to get a new phone to get the home charger to work.

i need help super bad!! I dropped my phantom kx414 and when i picked it up it was fine-- not a scratch on it! (btw i dropped it on cement) and everything was cool. so anyways i got it home and put it on the charger (i had half battery) and came back an hour later and it had that "BATTERY LOW" message. its so weird, it wont charge in my house, but everything works fine when i charge it on my car charger! i've tried differnt house chargers and batteries (my bro & dad have same phone) and the same thing happens so it has to be my phone! i'd send it in or take it to my company, but i got differnt a faceplate put on so my warrenty is up-- and i still have a year left on my contract. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY ADVICE AT ALL!?!?!?
