    some cellphone brand can unlock by unlocking code by just typing the code to your cell. (nokia,panasonic,lg,siemens,samsung) and some needs a data cable that hook up to your comp and unlocking software. i have nokia unlocking but if have a diff brand check this site: www.cellularpager.com
    unlocking code is base to your imei number, provider, and phone model.

    unlocked cell phone is allowed you to put diff sim card in one phone. most of the phone is lock to a service provider. if your phone is t-mobile and put at&t sim card in it the phone will not gonna take that sim card. unlocked phone don't choose any service provider. you can put t-mobile, cingular, at&t or if you are in canada put fido,roger, microcell. you can put any sim card there is in the world especially if you have a unlock tri-band phone that's work all over the world.

    Sorry.. I'm sure it's a stupid question.. but, What is an "unlocked" cell phone?
