I heard stories from parents about riots with gas shortage in the 70's they would do odd number cars could fill one day and even another day. And somedays people would hurt or kill the clerk at a gas station becuase they had fuel at the station and they were tring to buy fuel on a day they were not allowed to buy.

that only-driving-on-certain-days thing is scary! i live in a very rural area and that would just plain destroy things for us - of course, there's no problem with overcorwded roads... when the local factory lets out there're sometimes 6-7 cars at the stoplight in town all at the same time! ...

Can I rant about what IS allowed?? 'Cause I followed a trailer full of... poop.... for 3 miles at about 10 MPH the other day... Farmers have to make a living, most certainly... but in the US all you gotta do is slap an orangey-pink triangle on the back of something agricultural and suddenly its road worthy?!

I heard off a friend that in indo you are not aloud to drive cars by yourself during certain time of the day so sometimes people pick strangers off the streets so they don't get pulled over by the authority, they're trying to reduce the traffic by doing this so not sure if it has any impact lol

The Honda Accord hybrid looks just like a regular car... and runs even better! So what is your point here? You can't restrict road access to cars that are better than yours...

They don't want overcrowding on the streets. Same thing in Greece.

AND.. to the first guy.. you don't know very much do you.. Nissan specifically decided not to bring them to the US. It's not a matter about illegal or not.

There are plenty of folks in US that would LOVE to take away your freedom to drive your car, even for one day a week. One of them, who ran for president not too long ago, stated in his book that the Internal Combustion engine was the greatest threat that the US faced.

They will say or do anything to take your freedom. But most folks are too busy watching TV to notice.

That is the best thing I've ever heard.

The United States needs something like that. Only it should be more like if you own a car that is more than 2 different colors, you can't drive at all.
