    new law passed recently that all new camera phones must have a shutter sound or something that indicates to the person thats being photographed that a picture is being taken.

    i wouldnt get rid of the sound cause it is against the law, you can get arrested.

    You can erase the camera shutter buy doing a recover operation in Carrier/SuperAgent RSS or Depot. BUT This performs a full reformat of your phone. So u have to decide if its worth it to you.
