Philadelphia Flyers center Jeremy Roenick believes that NHL players are going to give up more than any union has ever given up in the history of professional sports when the league's new collective bargaining agreement is finally completed.
He also feels that will be sufficient to draw fans -- many of whom blamed the bulk of the labor dispute on the players -- back to the game.

"Everybody out there who calls us spoiled because we play 'a game,' they can all kiss my @$$. They can all kiss my @$$ because we have tried so hard to get this game back on the ice."

"I will say personally, personally, to everybody who calls us spoiled, you guys are just jealous, and screw you guys because we have tried so hard to get this game back on the ice to make it better for the fans," he said. "And if you don't realize that, don't come. We don't want you in the rink, we don't want you to watch hockey. Period."

I really don't care for hockey but the team owners gotta be really happy to hear one of their players say something like that, especially when the NHL is trying to regain fan loyalty

Can someone explain how collective bargaining "makes the game better for the fans"? Talent makes the game better. Rule changes can make the game more exciting. Things like salary caps- what that does that have to do with the game and fans? And that doesn't just go for hockey, it goes for all professional sports.

many nhl teams are losing a lot of money each season that they do play, so it has to be about $$$

Classic Ducks games? Have they been an NHL team long enough to have classic games?

Dittos. The Sox completely dismantled a far better team than they are, the Yanks. Just outlasted, outhustled and outplayed them.

The Yanks thought they would cruise to yet another Series and the Sox showed it's what's between the ears, your attitude, that rules.

Very impressive, you can't deny. Even if you didn't like the result ya gotta give 'em the respect and credit they are due, and it's a lot. Will they repeat? Probably not, but who knows? Seasons like this are usually difficult to repeat and as I said the Yanks are actually a more talented team.

As far as hockey goes, well , it seems to be an acquired taste. I guess I just haven't acquired it. But hey, for those of you who are hockey fans, I'm sorry you lost your season.

It's happened to other sports at times, which shows that any spoiled brat overpaid player can act like a 10 year old at times. What about the owners? They are just as dumb. Both owner and player willing to cut off their nose to spite their face. "Yeah we can't agree. So let's both not get paid for a year." How ignorant. Let's see if they can do it again next year. My 2 cents.

You are an idiot. How can you say the Red Sox suck? They won the World Series. Or did they just get lucky 8 times against New York and St. Louis?
