    I'm using three VX7000's and they're fine.

The 8000 adds speakerphone and bluetooth, which would be nice...camera has more pixels.

In my area, Verizon is offering the VX8000 at $150 each and the VX7000 at $100 each with a 2-year contract. The 7000 is available on e-Bay, but the pricing is around $125 for a used phone. But in that scenario, I would go with the 8000.

With a Verizon deal, I only paid $50 each for the phones...it was buy 1, get 3 free.

I found the VX7000 was dead simple to program so it uses my own WAP gateway. I also changed the MMS settings so that when I take a picture (or my kids take pictures) with the phones, they'll upload to our own websites (MMS_Diary: http://www.hellkvist.org)

All of 'em will connect with a data cable for saving phonebooks or uploading the backups to the phone.

As much as i love LG phones, i wouldn't recommend any GSM ones, theres nothing that really catches my eye for GSM, now if you go CDMA then that's a different story...
