    I seem to remember dialing 5555 on a home phone, then hanging up, and it rang back, but that was back in the early 80's. I don't think it works anymore.

    You can also call the operator and tell him or her you think there may be a problem with your line and ask if they can call you back to check it, but that probably wouldn't be efficient for a prank.

    It also works if you have call waiting, and you switch to the second line, then hang up.

    ye it was on a home fone. i wanted to know just to play a trick on a friend...lol i remember doing it on pay phones when i was younger but i forgot the numbr...any of you guys know it?
