I believe they are the same...I bought one for my VX7000 that was clearly sold as being for both. But that doesn't guarantee every one of 'em will work. You'll certainly find out.

I don't know that you can e-mail ringtones to the VX7000, sorry.

Does anyone know if it is possible to use the VX6000 data cable for the VX7000 phone? Also if I want to email the tones to my phone, do I need to be set up with the correct plan from verizon? Thanks in advance.
