You are right bossdragon, I forgot about those other features you talked about. For me I never used those things, things like that are more of a novelty to me. I am glad you didn't have any problems with your V710, if I would have not had any problems with my V710 I would still be using it today, but I went through 3 of them and had problems with all 3. Don’t get me wrong I am a huge Moto fan, I had a Star Tac and a V60. So when the time game for me to upgrade my phone again, the obvious choice was another Moto, but after all the problems I have had with the last one, I didn't want another so I figured I would try something new.

Good Luck Rah with your 6100, I am sure you will like it.

I went with the 6100 - some of the Verizon dealers locally are not displaying the motorolas because they have had so many come back defective?? One had 10 of 15 v710's come back with problems so they pulled them and refused to carry any more. I dont need all those fancy bells and whistles so I stayed with the LG- on my third day and no complaints thus far! Will have to see how it goes! Thanks for the input!

I totally disagree! The Moto phone has hands down better reception than the 6100. I know, as I have had both. Problems with either phone, well, that's something I cannot comment on, as I have had no problems with either phone.

But, for option's, reception and things like picture quality and video, the 710 blows the 6100 out of the water. Remember, this is my personal opinion.

    Does the 6100 have video?

Does it have a memory card?

Does it play full length music?

Does it play movies (off the memory card)?

Is it a stereo? (for playing full mp3's)

    etc, etc???

From what I have seen they both have very similar reception. My Cell plan is through Verizon and I travel all over the US due to my job and my LG VX6100 works every where I go and in between. The battery life (in my opinion) is very good on the LG VX6100, it is allot better then the Moto V710. The only thing that the Moto V710 has that the LG VX6100 doesn't have is Blue Tooth. If that is something that is important to you then go with the V710 but if it is something that is not important to you then go with the LG VX6100. I wish I would have got the 6100 from the very start. If you get your phone through Verizon and you don't like it, you have 15 days to return it and exchange it, so remember to keep that is mind.

Did you see similar reception between the two phones? How bout battery life? Any insight would be great! Leaning towards the LG at this point but not completely sure yet - I hear they both have issues!

I would go with the VX6100. I have had 3 Moto V710's and had problems with all 3.

The V710 always locked up on me and the appointments were always going off at the wrong times or never went off at all. At first I thought it was me (user error), but it wasn't. I took the 1st one in and explained what was going on and they gladly replaced it for free. The second one did the exact same thing, so I took that one back and they replaced it again, and like the 2nd one the 3rd one acted up too. I called Verizon told them I wanted another phone. After threatening to cancel my account, they let me get another phone.

I went with the LG VX6100 and I love it. I wish I would have bought this phone from the very beginning. It has a good speaker phone and the reception is good and it is also Tri-Mode.

Looking to replace my VX 4400 and dont know whether to go with the 6100 or go back to a Moto V710 ( had various Moto's in the past!) Need reliable reception, speakerphone and the trimode ability as I travel all day and in some more rural areas. Any input?
