see problem is that when you lock your phone you need to unlock it to answer a call, so i guess you have to pick which one is more incovenient.
i remember i had that problem alot with my LG 6K....

I think just locking your outside key's would work. Although Tony's idea isn't bad either, especially if you need to use the volume button while talking.

By the way, sorry about not following up on the original question. My LG's don't activate manner mode that way. Which I am glad of now after reading this thread.

The side/toggle key on your LG does activate manner mode, this has been a complaint from alot users about their phones being accidently set to manner mode this way, i've known of some going as far as inserting a piece of a tooth pick to keep it from doing this.

I had the same problem with the manner mode toggle key. Locking the keys worked great. Thanks

Both buttons activate manner mode. Inside a purse etc. it could easily be held for a couple seconds thus activating MM.

A simple solution is to lock your keys. Then manner mode can't be activated.

Thanks for the help, but I think you misunderstand me. I know the star button also toggles the manner mode. The button I have a problem with is a small silver button on the OUTSIDE of the phone. I have tested it many times-it functions the same as the star button. It is getting pushed inside my pocketbook with the phone clamshell closed.

no...it's the star button...try it and see...press and hold it and see what happens.

    Hello:

It's not the star button on the keypad. It's a small silver button on the outside of the phone.

Sorry....no....manner mode is set on all LG phones. It is not however set to the lightest touch. It requires you to hold the * (star) button down for like a half of a second, just touching the key will not activate manner mode. ( I know this to be a fact as I have five of seven cellphones that are LG), so if as you say, just touching the key sets it to manner mode, you need to get the phone checked out.

    Hello:

I have a vx6000. Some dingdong designed it with a little button on the lower left side that turns it silent or vibrate at the lightest touch. My husband and my boss have both been upset with me because my phone shuts off the ringer in my pocketbook. I tried a leather case and it doesn't help.

Before a sharp tool is employed, can I reprogram it?
