dont know what nokia type of phone is that. is it belongs to s30? s40? or s60?. if that phone has infrared capable then no need to setup cable or usb, just use infrared one(use plug and play). If you done connecting the cable into your pc, then run the application. Goto connection settings then, connection type, click the device you are trying to setup. (or Help the best one.)

Yeah, these phones annoy me when it comes to data cables, because nokia don't officially make them for the phone.

Have you tried google for drivers?

the ebay cables are usually a cheaper usb to serial emuation cable. When mine is plugged in it actually emulates a serial port to the software and shows up as a serial adapter. It's supposed to be a DKU-5 cable. The PC suite probably won't have the drivers you need. Did it come with software or a web address? Is the same seller selling a bunch of other cables? Usually if you ask them they will point you somewhere to get the drives for the cable.

It says on the package Nok 3595. I got it off ebay. They said this would work on a Nokia 6010.The cable fits the phone, but I need the drivers for the cable. I downloaded pc suite. Do I install drivers first if I can get them then the software? In what order do you do it? Thanks!

What model cable do you have?
You're meant to install the drivers BEFORE pluging in the cable, The nokia suite is the best one to use, install the cable before the PC suite.
