Ah well... who needs a fancy cellphone when you've only got penguins to talk to

Jeanie, if you can't wait just get the v710 if you want to use a bluetooth headset, also the LG 8100 should be getting release sometime this week, check it out >>>> LG 8100

(Verizon is the only local service here - just got local signal within the past year!)

Oh... and what sort of memory card? Something I could slide into my card reader/writer and add goodies to WITHOUT a data cable?? That'd be comvenient!! I mean... new Joely pics every 3 days and all

Jeanie, if you read Boss' post he pretty much has all the details on the v710 , also keep in mind that the v710 does not use a regular SDcard, it uses a TransFlash / microSD, the E815 which is an update to the v170 was just released last week, but since you live somewhere in Antartica...lol, it may not be available there yet.. you may also want to look at some LG models...

You summed that up quite nicely Boss, very nice detailed comparison, you know i totally forgot to mention how good ol' Verizon cripple much of the Bluetooth on the v710, good call....

    My two cents!

As tony mentioned the 710 has bluetooth. It also has a memory card, a mp3 player and will play in stereo with appropriate headphones/earbuds. Now, if you have Verizon, the bluetooth is crippled very badly. With the latest updates, you can no longer download wallpaper and ringtones to the memory card and then in turn use them on the phone. You can however still listen to mp3's from the card. The bluetooth will sync with and does a great job with bluetooth ear-pieces. Will sync up fairly nice with a computer, but once again is limited to what it can and can't do. The build of the phone itself is somewhat questionable - kind of flimsy (ALIMHO). Fashion wise, pretty damn good. The camera, though a 1 megapixel+, takes terrible pics, and forget indoors (no flash). Lost calls and signal stregth are what I would expect out of moto, which is good, and being tri-mode helps us still in the boonies.

The 7000 is a very well built phone. But, with no bluetooth, a small amount of memory, and no card slot, fall's short of the 710. The screens, both inside and out are very good - crisp and clean and are way better than the 710. The rotating camera, though way under a meg, takes better shots than the 710. Though a fully digital phone, signal strength or lost calls have never been a problem. The menu system is easy and well organized. The buttons are easy to use, well spaced and actually feel like something vs. the 710.

I actually own both, well my wife has the 710, and one of our house phones is a 7000 (we don't have a lan line phone system anymore).

Like tony said, depends on what features your looking for.

depends on what your looking for. I have both. Both have the good points, but at this time, the moto has more bad points than the LG. You might want to look into the 8100 from LG or the 815 from Moto, or even the 8000 by LG.

But, if those are the only two phones your choosing from, go with the 7000. Way better track record.

It all depends on the features you're loooking for, i like both LG & Moto phones, but i would lean towards the v710 being that it has the bluetooth capabilities, looks much nicer also...

VX7000, if you research you'll find it is the better phone. Better rated on every site i've looked at by customers. I also was debating on which phone to get, i ended up get the 7000.

I had the VX7000 and had very few issues with it... I've had Motorola phones before and never went back to them but I can't speak from personal experience regarding the v710 model other than what I've read about it.
