This is actually known as number spoofing. Congress was trying to pass a bill that outlawed this a while ago... not sure what happened to it though

I have no idea why we have to pay for such service.

In a lot of Asian countries, you just need to dial #133 before dialing the number you want to call and your number will not be shown to another person. And it's a free service that comes with the plan.

I saw this on the Screen Savers TV show.. back when G4 TV was Tech TV. On that program, it was only a certain model NOKIA phone that could be hacked to spoof another number on someone's caller ID. It is a curious subject. I don't like to break rules either, but I like to know how =)

its not hard to spoof or block you number. You should find it by searching. I'd hate to break any rules since spoofing is kinda unethical and all.

I saw a program a while back that mentioned being able have a different number show up in another persons caller i.d. when you place a call from your cell phone to them..
Does anyone know about that trick and how to do it..Supposedly it is easy to do. The program was on G4 T.V on one of their nightly programs. In the meantime I am doing a search and will try to hopefully find the info in the G4 website archives. Until then if some knows please reply!!
    Thanks,
