    Well I have the same problem, the only difference is that mine worked for a few days, but now it has the same problem that you have. What version of Windows are you using, mine is 2K Pro.

    Ok so here is my variation on the problem others are having...

    I got a USB cable from Ebay (came in a orange box labled simply "USB DATA CABLE" but no real company name). I plugged it in, plugged my phone in, directed it to the drivers for the phone, it all went a-ok. However it seems that it has set up my phone on my computer as a modem and that is it...can't seem to figure out how to access any data off it. When I open BitPim I let it know what Com it is on and my phone info, but when I click on "detect phone" it says no phone detected/recognized.

    HELP - I really want to play around with some pics/ringtones but this is just getting to be frusterating - any tips PLEASE??
