Dont you have to unlock the phone first? Ive been wanting to get mine unlocked, but havent found any software out there that I can use...that way I wouldnt have to take it somewhere to get it unlocked. Is there any program out there that I can use myself to unlock my v600 myself?

Haha, well, no, it didn't come like that, i got a usb cable for my phone, and after lots of reading, found out how to delete the junk motorola crams into their phone (stock wallpapers, ringers, etc) which freed up an extra 4 mb's, so i have a total of 9.691mb of space on my phone, if you want to learn how to do this, then try these sites Hidden Content , and Hidden Content

you can also try dbPowerAmp. dbPowerAmp is pretty easy. All you gotta do is right click on the file, convert, then just lower the frequency and kbs. heres a screen shot of it...

I use that and Adobe Audition to make my .mp3 ringers.

yeh, the file will be saved as 64kbps. thats the main reason for the huge diff in size

Okay, I downloaded goldwave and I saved a ringtone that was 543 kbps as: Layer-3 44100 Hz, 64 kbps stereo....Does this mean that the file is goign to be 64 Kbps? Because I look at the file again and it went down from 543 to 288. I'm kinda confused.

as a general rule of thumb, you shouldnt bring the quality lower than 64kbps, otherwise your ringtone will be all distorted, and at the 64kbps level, ringtones don't take up too much space, which is why i have 50+ ringtones on my razr (although i have 9mb of memory, normally 5mb for razrs, which should be about 30 ringers, which is plenty!!!)

encode it as mp3pro in 96 kbps, that is equal to mp3 in 192 kbps (cd quality)

you could lower the audio quality. i use an audio editor called GoldWave, i just open the file with GoldWave and save it as a lower quality mp3!
