Are you thinking of transferring a music to your phone and use it as a ringtone? What format is your music, is it a wav or mp3 or mid? For E317, the ringtone format has to be mmf. You have to convert the other format to mmf first. Check the following link for information on how to convert it to mmf:

After you have the mmf file, you can use a data cable to transfer it to your phone and the program to do that is PIMS & File manager from Samsung:
