With Adobe Audition, you can edit .mp3 files, like cropping it and converting it.

As for dbpoweramp, I really just use it when I want to make a ringer smaller in file size.

I have no clue what was wrong with it, but I had an MP3 that I converted to WAV with dbpoweramp, edited with MS Sound Recorder, then converted back to MP3 with powerAmp. When I copied it to my phone and chose it for a ringtone, nothing played. When I selected it in MyMedia, it told me the file was corrupt.

I had a thread here about it but it got moved to the Motorola forum.

With iTunes I was able to trim it without converting it out of MP3 format, and that one is working fine.

What was wrong with the tune you converted with dbpoweramp? what was the original and what did you try to convert it to?

Someone else reccomened iTunes to me - the tone I converted with dbpoweramp wouldn't play on my phone, but with iTunes it worked great. Plus iTunes is free.

By using dbpoweramp, it also embeds itself into windows right-click menu.

By the sounds of it, dbpoweramp and acoustica mp3towav seem very similar.

Unfortunately, they do.. mine ran out. For that reason, I'd recommend Hidden Content . It embeds itself in the Windows Right-Click menu, so all you have to do is right click a song, and it'll give you the immediate option to convert it to MP3, WAV, or WMA format, all with options for bitrate and quality.

My "Trial" hasn't run out yet, but I've had it for so long that I can't even remember whether or not I used a crack on the software... but either way, it's served me well for a long time. Hidden Content

You can get it from download.com, but is says it's a free trial and $14.95 to buy. Don't know if they enforce that or not, though.

Hey, I was wondering if anyone knew of a good free WAV to MP3 converter.. I looked on Google and all I found was crap that said it was free but was only a trial of some other product that didn't fit the discription.. I am asking because...I've been making ringtones that are short clips of songs, but I can only export as wav...so...thanks..
