well as for .qcp format (doesn't sound as good, but i'm satisfied) my phones memory is 3/4 full with 31 ringtones that are about 20-30 seconds on average. as for m4a... my phone will only hold like 4-7 depending on the size... m4a sounds awesome and is alot louder, but for me, qcp all the way

Wow, I never knew just how much goes into making these ringtones!
The way it sounds, you guys do as much work as a music studio does for a full album. They only deal with one format (cda).
Anyone know how many ringtones the MM-8300 can hold?

ok if ur gonna make a qcp ringer u cant use it as stereo it has to be mono...if u r gonna make a mp4/aac ringer u have to make sure its 40 or 48 kbits constant bitrate, encoder quality high and mono.

1) grab the track and place it in nero wave editor
2) i trim it down to the part i desire
3) i save it as a mp4/aac file with 48 mhz cbr
4) or open nero burning rom and convert the file/encode the file

i know, mine did the same, thats why i just settled for the QCP format... which isn't bad and much smaller... but i'd still like to figure out the m4a/aac thing

I am having a problem trying to get ring tones on my phone. im making the file aac/m4a which i thought we can use on our phones?

so i downloaded it onto my phone and now when i go to select the file to play, it either a)freezes the phone b) plays it, but no sound comes out...

what is going on?

that sucks, i'm sry... i was plannin on gettin it in a week with my next paycheck... still might but idk... but in all honesty the vision plan is an excellent plan and i can 100% guarantee you that the the method i put up earlier in the thread works... i now have FOB chicago, my chem romance i'm not ok, and a weezer song on my phone, just haven't had the time to add more with work... and all those clips are like 30-35 seconds and only take up like 60kb

Seeing how futuredial isn't doing much more than bitpim did, I might just go the Vision route.

yea... i'm not gonna argue about sprint bein too expensive... but there is another option (through the data cable). here's the problem, it's not free... it's a one time $50 purcshase... the official data cable program for the mm-8300. its from futuredial... the company that sanyo works with to create and distribute data cable software. it's called futuredial suite, here's the link: FutureDial Suite . like i said, $50, but it will work for the mm-8300 and it will do most of what you wanna do in terms of data transfering

well it's part of the vision plan (which is basically the internet on your sprint phone). the vision plan is like $20 or $30 a month i think... but i think its 2cents per kb if you don't have vision... so unless you have a vision plan it's kind of expensive. but the vision plan is well worth it for more than just ringtones... the vision plan is the internet... so i recomend it

Generally, how much does it cost to send it to your phone, is that part of a particular plan, because this cable transfer is rediculous at best, you're only able to transfer midi (less than 20kb) and png files (less than 100kb), thats just stupid, dumb, and unbelievable!
