    My computer dosen't have a MIDI in port, so I play it on a keyboard and then transpose what I have played to Anvil Studios.

    logic 7 has plugins and your sound card should have general midi sounds if its a good one like an audigy

    Yeah, both correct... I pick out a line to listen to and focus on that all the way through then head on to the next line... I typically begin with the piano or guitar or drums and bass line... depends... I approach some songs differently, however...

    The general method for creating midis, is listening to the track or parts of the track over, and yes basically finding those keys on a midi keyboard and duplicating the sound, not always straight forward, but with a bit of practice it gets easier.
