I was with Aliant which is a Bell company for about 7 years and yes they do have great reception around here however they are quite expensive.. I've just recently switched to Telus.. they have about the same coverage as they do share towers and much cheaper rates and the customer service is even much better (except that stupid automated girl) I would deffinatley recommend Telus!

the BEST deal is Virgin... NO system access fees... all the goodies for call alert, call forward, messaging, call dispay ... is $10.00 and only 10c a call..NO contract.

I went travelling overseas...to Mozambique and South Africa with an expensive Bellmobilty World phone and it did NOT work... guess what they said after a complained and spent a fortune calling them ($8.00 a mn)

They admitted that they put out the product in the market WITHOUT testing to make sure it worked.. and apologised........... Not even an offer to compensate mr for all the aggravation.. but offered to send me a new simm card that should work now.

I am glad tp have moved to Vigin.. I do understand they are comung out with contracts real soon...No more Rogers, Bell.. and system access fees!!

I think bell is better. Where I live, rogers and fido have fairly poor reception especially by my house.

Ok well, I'm going with Telus, although they have a few..disadvantages that I could go without lol, 3rd party ringtone downloads not allowed which I think is kinda stupid, and the fact that you see all these commercials that you can buy a card for 500 minutes for 50$ and you only get like an hour for 50$... really not cool but I only chose this because its the only provider I have had.

I have been with Rogers for the last 15 years, yes 15 years. I am looking at making a change. I have the same question you do so I won't vote since I have only been with Rogers.

So far I have not had a problem with Rogers. But they do use GSM and Bell and Telus use CDMA. I have had it happen a few times now that I was trying to call someone that was 5 minutes away from me but the system was busy so I had to keep trying. I hear that with CDMA there is less chance of that happening.

Also I was told today that with Bell once you make a call, it transfers to a land line for the call, so you are only going from tower to your phone on wireless, I don't know how true this is but this comes from a dealer that used to sell Rogers and now sells Telus. But Telus and Bell share the towers anyhow. She wasn't trying to get me to by Telus at all, she was just telling me about it. Also since I already have internet with Bell, if I add a cell phone to it, I save 10$ a month.

i've used Telus, Rogers, and now im with Bell, and by FAR, bell is the best...cheaper rates, that offer more than what i had with Telus for $15/month less...and the signal and reception is always readily available and strong...as well i found the people at telus to not care about issuses i was having with them...in fact it seemed like they were mocking me when i told them i wanted to terminate my service with them...they were like "let me get this straight...you dont think our prices are competitive and you want to switch from the biggest provider in canada blah blah blah..." it was laughable...

    A few things to consider
Fido and Rogers - use GSM technology which means you can buy your own phone, whatever unlocked GSM you have(and right bands at least one of either 850 or 1900).

If you go with Telus or Bell they use CDMA, you HAVE to buy their phones. In Canada that is a huge drawback because for some reason we are sold phones that have been out on the market for at least 2 years.

If you go with CDMA, then please go with Bell and not Telus. If i could I would use some colorful language to describe their contracts and phone selection.

If you want to buy a phone that is not at least two years old and go with GSM providers, both Fido and Rogers are good. I use Fido because they are the only ones to use per second billing.

    Hope this helps

I think that bell and it's group of companies are the ****.Where i live in manitoba fido, rogers and telus are just a waste of time. No service once your in the sticks.I have been with mts(a bell company) for 5 years. I'm not on a contract with them and they treat me like gold. I don't pay for hardware swaps. Whice is a good thing. I've had 10 phone just this year.Telus chargers $25 or more just to do that. And the other good thing about bell is their customer service is outstanding. I called them for and sp lock code and they gave it to me over the phone.
