yep, tried that. The .mid file, after uploading it to the phone, tries to play, but nothing is there to be played. It does says under the details of the file on the phone that it is a MIDI file. Then, when I try to play the original .mp3 uploaded file, it says the file is corrupt....I hate my phone, all I want is my own custom ringtones! I thought it would be cool to have my band's drummer playing something for a ringtone, but I guess not because my phone is lame! Thanks for your help!!

have you tried to just change the extention from mp3 to mid? That works on just about every phone that is capable of playing real music files.

I thought that was some kinda of scam that would charge me a bunch of money, I guess I didn't think it's that easy. The thing is, I uploaded the mp3 file I wanted, entered my phone #, but my service provider (U.S. Cellular) isn't listed, so I used "Other GSM providers" in the drop down menu.

Are there other websites like this, but maybe with my service provider?? I would search myself, but I don't know what to search for, or what that kind of website is called.

It then gave me a link to paste into a browser, and a number to paste somewhere when I'm prompted to, but all it does it ask me to save a .funformobile file. I hope I'm not missing something really huge here... Thanks so much for your help, I really really really appreciate it.

The "stock" ringers on the phone are all the real lame midi ones, but I was listening to what I think were mp3s that I could buy on the phone, since they were the actual song, but just lowered quality.
I dont want you to feel dumb now but i have the same phone as you. do what i said in my post and you will have what you were wanting :P

all you do is go to www.funformobile.com go to "upload ringtone" and upload however long you want it after you cut it using wavepad then it will send it to your phone

p.s. save it as a mp3 before you send it and the site will transfer it into a mid file which still has the same audio as before

Are you even sure you phone supports mp3 ringers? Everywhere I have seen, it says nothing of that.

if you can, compile the ringers you have made and send them over to me, maybe there's something you're missing. Who knows. Just zip them with winzip or winrar or any program similar to those and send them over to me.
