    It's the sensor for the inner lights.. If you hold your thumb over it in the light your keypad will light up.

    I guess this is just the last resort before I have to get a new one.

    The rest of the phone seems to work except for the keypad, it still charges and everything like that. Only two buttons work and witout the keypad, of course it is useless.

    It might be a reset button, but here is a picture.
    Could you please let me know what this is for. Just to let you know, my phone is stuck in Airplane mode since only my power and DC buttons are the only buttons that seem to work at this point. I dropped it in a shallow puddle and this is the result.

    Does anyone know what the pinhole on the top left part of the keypad of an i836 is for? Just wondering if it is a realease for something like on a optical drive on a computer.
