My 6102 is 4.4mb shared between everything. You can delete the games if you don't use them like myself. That gives you more room. I bought the USB cable today, and downloaded the software. So the memory isn't really a problem since I can pull pics and vids off and if I need to put them back on the phone.

Yeah, I was always told it ws 4.4mb shared with everything..

Hey all. I sent an email to Nokia and they said that the 6101 has 4.6 megs of ram, not 3.5; but they didn't answer my first question yet. I don't have it, but Walmart has it for 30 with a contract and I would've gotten it this morning but they had to order more, so hopefully in a few days I'll get it. Anyway, thanks and I'll post any info I get from nokia.
    God bless,

You can goto options on any folder then check memory. Like said above I am not sure how much is used and how much is free from the get go. I know it isn't enough. Everyday I am being asked by my phone if I want to delete some items. B/c I run out of room everyday.

Pwolves, I'm not exactly sure. But if you have one, the memory status is under the settings menu.

Hey all. I was curious, does anyone know how much memory is already used right out of the box and how much is left to us?

Yes please explain this cable. I want to be able to upload ringtones I either download or make. Also take my photos and hopefully video off of my phone. I was going to buy the USB cable off of ebay for this phone, will it do the same things?

rtst3, I was reading your other post on another board, about the video's. I haven't tried e-mailing any small video's but what would you use to play the video's just WMP? or what?

I honestly think that for $250 that I spent on this phone, it should have came with a slot for a memory card. What is this futuredial data cable you talk about? I know I've seen the data cables, is that the same thing, or something different from the normal data cables?

Well I gotta say I love the 6101. I have been using motorollas for the last 2 years and just lost one. I got this one without doing any reserach and lucked out. The ringtones are louder and clearer, there is more customization options on the phone, I get better reception and the pictures and video come out very clear for this price range. I don't think I could have gotten a better buy for $200. I also bought one of those futuredial data cables and hooked it up to nokia pc suite, which supposedely you can't do, and now I am able to back up the phone, upload/donwload ringtones, videos and pictures, not to mention synch it up with outlook. So I give it 2 thumbs up!!

I really haven't had a problem with the volume on the speaker volume..but then again, I've never tried talking to anyone, while I had a bunch of loud people. I've used it outside, it seemed just fine then too, but I didn't have to turn the volume all the way up.
  • 10-03-2005, 02:55 PM
Hey all. What's up? I've read some bad reviews about the 6101 and02's speaker volume, that it's hard to hear even when turned up all the way. What say ye?

Hmm, maybe it's because of the ringtones that I've downloaded. But I deleted some of the games that came on the phone, and themes so I could take more pictures. I think that kinda sucked that they don't have a slot for a memory card or something, for $250..should have been. Oh well.

These phones have 4.4mb of memory, shared between everything, so do you have any games or MMS messages hoggin up space?
