    Very well spoken, Mike.

This is the primary reason why I love to beta! The amount of time spent writing feedback is just a drop in the bucket in comparison to being able to use bleeding edge technology and devices before they make it to market. It gives me a great feeling to know that I've had an impact on the quality and usability of a product.

Trust me, it won't feel like a chore, and it is, indeed, a lot of fun.

Hopefully I'll get approved for this one, but if not, there's always next time

You say wifi user, I am confused on what you mean by that. I have a wireless network in my house, my PC doesn't use it though, mine is wired.

Thank you, that clarifies a lot of the things involved in this.

Incentives vary from test to test. On some projects you get to keep the product. On others, you get gift certificates from Amazon or ThinkGeek. Other companies give gifts like handhelds or iPods. However, the goodies are the smaller of the benefits of beta testing.

Would be nice if you can tell us what are the good iincentives. I could not find much info on the website.

It is a volunteer thing. Most people put in much more than that. We typically give good incentives but an hour or two week is not worth our time. It is balanced. Most people integrate the product into their lives and that small amount of time daily becomes very easy.

Oh, that is way too much to do for fun. If it was an hour or two a week, then it is ok to do for no pay. This kind of 15 hr a week is like a part time job. I guess it reduces the number of people required for QA/testing etc. The work is like a qa person's job, so you are asking for about 400-600$ worth of work per week.

We ask testers to dedicate an hour or two every day. We don't ask for a huge commitment but we do expect regular feedback and reports of any issues discovered. Our software makes the whole process very simple.

How much time would be required to be devoted to this if someone takes it up? The reason for asking is so that i dont take it up and then cannot do justice to it.
